SMYRNA MILLS - Helen Kilgore Anderson, 94, passed away April 3, 2012, in Houlton. She was born July 19, 1917, in Moro, to Harriet (Stewart) and Frank O. Kilgore. She was predeceased by her husband, Clair E. Anderson; sisters, Georgia and Arlene Kilgore; brother, Harold L. Kilgore; son-in-law, Ervin L. Stone; and brother-in-law, Maj. William Anderson. Helen is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth A. Stone of Houlton; granddaughter, Heidi Stone Venuti and her husband, Richard, of Greenville, N.H.; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Jean Venuti, also of Greenville, N.H.; niece, Arlene Kilgore Crosby and her companion, Stephen DeVille, of Ludlow; Arlene's children and grandchildren; several cousins; and special people, Althea Lloyd, Ashley Fitzgerald, Thelma Stone Henderson, Bonnie, Dale and Noel Pratt, and Mildred Lewis. A lifelong resident of Smyrna Mills, Helen was a member of the former United Methodist Church of Smyrna where she devoted many joyful hours to the choir, church services and social activities. Also dear to her heart was RSVP. Helen's gentleness, unfailing kindness, and compassion gave many people comfort, hope and support. For several years Helen worked for the Clerk of Courts in Houlton, eventually retiring to care for her mother. A celebration of Helen's life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at the former United Methodist Church, Smyrna Mills, with Pastor Marilyn Rohdin officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family noon until the time of service.
