Helen (Kane) (Buchner) Johnson, 87, a longtime resident of Framingham, died Friday, April 13, 2012, at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence in Wayland. She was the wife of Roy A. Johnson, to whom she was married since 1985, and William C. Buchner, who died in 1978. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Florence R. (Walker) Kane. She attended Framingham schools and was a graduate of Framingham High, with the class of 1942. Mrs. Johnson worked for more than 50 years for the Framingham School Department lunch program, primarily at Dunning Elementary, until retiring. She was a member of the Minuteman Ford Model A Club, and will be remembered as a wonderful mother devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a fixture at the former Riley's Roast Beef in Nobscot, where she and Roy always had reserved seats. To know Helen was to love her. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Linda B. Martin and her husband, Kenneth, of Hudson, Judith Bakos and her husband, Richard, of Gilmanton, N.H., and Patricia Boileau of Framingham; six stepchildren; eight grandchildren, Kate Noel, Kenny Martin, Emily Bakos, Bill Bakos, Kaylin Boileau, Elizabeth Boileau, Jennifer McDonald and Steven Boileau; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Reta Stevenson of Framingham. She was the sister of the late Paul Kane, Thomas Kane and Robert Kane. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 18, at 10 a.m., at St. George's Church, 74 School St., Framingham (Saxonville). Burial will follow in Edwards Cemetery, Saxonville. Visiting hours are Tuesday, April 17, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Boyle Bros. Funeral Home, 173 Union Ave., Framingham.
