Helen Jean Miller, 82, of Crete, Illinois, died Friday, October 12, 2007, in St. James Manor in Crete. Mrs. Miller was born October 12, 1925, in Sweet Springs, Missouri, the daughter of Keith and Helen Graham Carlton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Miller; a daughter, Garnet Sterne; and a brother, Irving Keith Carlton. Surviving are one son, Karl Miller; one daughter and son-in-law, Annie and Ron Janota; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Frank Niemeyer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2007, in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with Jerry Jenkins officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Hazelwood Cemetery.
