Obituary of Helen Jean Carter

Helen Jean Carter 1940-2014 The death of Helen Jean (nee Killam) Carter of Killams Mills, wife of Herbert S. Carter, occurred at the Moncton City Hospital on September 3, 2014 at the age of 74. Born on February 20, 1940 in New Scotland, she was the youngest daughter of the late William Douglas and Violet Olive (nee Horsman) Killam. Helen was a foster Mom for many years as well as a homemaker. She and Herb also ran the store in Killams Mills for many years. Besides her husband Herb, Helen is survived by her three daughters: Wanda Carter, Brenda (Robert) Edgar and Barbara (Karl) Edgar; her two sons: Herbert S. Jr. “Herbie” Carter and Nicholas (Melissa) Carter; five grandsons: Christopher Carter, Shawn Edgar, Kody Edgar, Kyle Edgar, Alex Edgar and Ashton Edgar; great-grandson, Dawson Carter; great-grandaughters: Kalleigh Fisher, Aleah Jade and Alydia Leigh; her two brothers: Everett Killam of Canaan and Lloyd Killam of Vancouver; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by ten brothers, four sisters and a special granddaughter Tori Ann Edgar. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac. Visitation will be held on Friday September 5, 2014 from 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 2:00pm with Pastor Lloyd O’Blenis presiding all in Armstrong’s Funeral Home.
