Helen J. Briggs, formerly of Shirley Helen J. (Jurga) Briggs, 87, of Onset, formerly of Shirley, devoted wife, mother, and Red Sox fan, died April 9, 2010. She was the wife of William W. Briggs, Jr. Mother of Patricia Cleary of Buzzards Bay, Susan Burrell of Pocasset, and the late Wilma Texeira. Sister of Sophie Day of Shirley. Sister-in-law of Emma Jefferson of Ayer. Also survived by seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 12, 2010 from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., (Rte. 28), Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Onset.
