Mrs. Helen I. Williams, 84, Springfield was promoted into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Monday February 8, 2010 in her home with family at her side. Helen was born August 6, 1925 in Polk County to M.C. (Dyke) and Bessie (Pratt) Cates. She was united in marriage to Vernon O. (Pete) Williams on December 24, 1947. Helen dedicated her life to her Lord and her family. She was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church and was known for her service to others. Preceding Helen in death were her daughter, Nancy Ann (Williams) Holden; her parents and four brothers. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Pete, of the home, a son Tom Williams and wife Christy of Mobile, Ala.; son-in-law, John Holden and grandson, Judah Holden both of Springfield and other exended family and friends. A funeral service will be held Friday February 12, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home, 1635 N. Benton, Springfield, Mo. with interment to follow in Robberson Prairie Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday February 11, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Evergreen Baptist Church building fund or to St. John's Hospice in Helen's name.
