She was born on October 31, 1929 in Sciotoville, Ohio. Helen graduated Ohio State University as a Dental Hygienist and moved to Palm Beach County Florida in the 1950s, where she raised her three children. She was known for her work volunteer work and hospitality. She retired from St. Mary's Hospital, in W. Palm Beach, FL in 2002 and moved to Greer, South Carolina to be closer to her children. She is survived by her children Scott Pickett of Newland, NC; Wendy Palmer, of Newland, NC; Eve King (Eric) of Simpsonville, SC; and grandchildren Jackson & Rachel Pickett, Ross & Alisha Palmer, Kenneth Bolton (Stephanie) and Lael & Adeline King. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Inez Crull. The family will receive visitors from 3:00- 5:00 followed by a memorial service on Saturday, October 19 at the home of her grandson and his wife, 309 W. Bushy Hill Rd., Duncan SC.The family wishes to honor Helen Pickett's love of reading by having memorials made to Greenville County Library System and sent to 25 Heritage Green Place, Greenville SC 29601.
