Obituary of Helen-H. Tuttle

WATERVILLE -- Helen H. Tuttle, 87, died Friday July 1, 2011, at Inland Hospital in Waterville.She was born in Halleine, Austria, on May 27, 1924, the daughter of Ludwig and Anna (Kanuche) Grasspointner.Helen lived many years in the Waterville-Oakland area before moving to Caratunk in 1975. While in Waterville, she and her husband owned and operated Barrons Grocery Store on Drummond Avenue.Helen was an avid gardener, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Her most pleasurable times were spent with family and friends.She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph M. Tuttle, in November 2000. Surviving are two daughters Jody Corson of Oakland and Sandra Fennell of Albion; four grandchildren, Chad, Shawn and Derek Fennell, and Andrea Soule; and eight great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Danica, Joshua, Conner, Nicholas, Sydney, Evan and Kamren. Helen's family would like to extend a grateful thank you to the nurses at Inland Hospital for the excellent care she received.A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 8, at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, in Augusta. Arrangements are by Wheeler Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Oakland.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lakewood Continuing Care Center, Long Term Care Unit, 220 Kennedy Memorial Drive, Waterville, ME 04901.
