Helen Gallagher passed away peacefully Feb. 6, 2013, at Westwood Nursing Center in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. She was born Sept. 21, 1925, in Luzerne, Pa., to the late John and Lena Slapar.In her early years, Helen moved to Bloomfield, N.J., where she worked for Hoffman – La Roche Pharmaceuticals. Following retirement she and her husband, John, moved to Honesdale, Pa. Shortly after John's death in 1999, she relocated to Bob Hope Village in Shalimar, Fla., where she participated in many activities and was surrounded by wonderful friends who supported her until the end.Helen is survived by her brothers, John of Luzerne; Rudolph (Anna) of Wyoming, Pa.; her sister, Dolores (Albert) Urbanovich of Wayne, N.J.; and nieces and nephew.She will be sadly missed by her loving family and many friends.
