Helen G. Harris Bloomington/Highland Helen G. (Farmer) Harris, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home, with her family at her side, in Bloomington on November 10, 2004. She was born in Highland, Indiana on November 4, 1925, the daughter of Irene (Farris) and Phillip Farmer. Helen was married to Leroy Harris for 57 years. They lived in Highland, Indiana and in 1978 they retired to Bloomington, Indiana. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Leroy Harris; one son, James Harris and wife Diana of Bloomington, IN; three daughters: Linda Lieberman of Highland, Indiana, Carolyn Harris of Crown Point, Indiana and Kathleen Brown and husband Arthur of Cicero, Indiana; seven grandchildren: Jessica Harris, Michael, Bryan and wife Melanie and Justin Lieberman, Christine Wynne and husband Keith, Daniel Borman and Adrienne Brown; one great-grandson: Michael Wynne; two sisters, Virginia Gill and Mary Szendrey, both from Highland, IN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers John Farmer and Lloyd Farmer and three sisters Phyllis Hrpka, Juanita Davis and Frieda Hammil. Helen and Leroy were vendors at the Bloomington Farmer's Market for 23 years and were members of the Stanford Baptist Church for 26 years. Friends may meet with family from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2004 at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., Schererville, IN (one mile south of US 30). Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor John P. Starr officiating. Private family interment will follow.
