Memorial service celebrating the life of Helen Frances Young, 82, Marvin Road, Ormond Beach, who was called home by the Lord Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at First United Methodist Church of Ormond Beach. Mrs. Young, a homemaker, was born June 5, 1924, in Nashville, Tenn., and moved to this area in 1978 from Mequon, Wis. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Ormond Beach, where she served on the altar guild, the holiday decorating committee, the bereavement committee, and participated in a life group study. She was also a member of Carissa Garden Club, Ormond Beach. Mrs. Young enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, animals, and playing the piano. Mrs. Young was predeceased by her husband, William R. Young; brother, Paul Scheuer; and sister, Louise Schroer. Survivors include two daughters, Anita Sharpee and Linda Young, both of Ormond Beach; two brothers, William Scheuer, Bristol, Tenn., and John Scheuer, Lancaster, N.Y.; sister, Jean Johnson, Ormond Beach; three grandchildren, Kimberly Valle, Jeffrey Sharpee and Deborah Beloyed; and three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Jacob and Adam. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to American Heart Association, 555 W. Granada Blvd., Suite A-1, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
