Athens - Helen Emmajean Miller, age 73, wife of the late Bert Lee Miller, died Thursday, July 23, 2009, at her residence.Born in Highpoint, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Howard and Juanita Brown Spencer. Mrs. Miller volunteered with various domestic violence organizations, as well as making donations to those organizations and had a true love for animals.Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie Ranes of Athens, Linda Miller of San Antonio, Texas, Lisa and Mark Brown of Hoschton, Ga., and Christina and Joseph Williams of Arnoldsville, Ga.; grandchildren, Jason Ranes, Steven and Brian and Melissa Brown; one great-grandson, Caelan Ranes; and loyal, loving animal companions.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Athens Canine Rescue, P.O.
