JONES Helen Elizabeth Mackenzie Jones, age 93 of Ashlar Village, Wallingford and previously of Stratford, departed this life on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at the Masonic Healthcare Center. She was the beloved wife of the late George E. Jones Sr. Helen was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., December 8, 1913, daughter of the late Duncan and Sara (Leggett) Mackenzie. She was a graduate of PS 46 in the Bronx, N.Y., Class of 1927, Theodore Roosevelt High School, Class of 1931, and attended Eastman Gaines Business School in New York City. She was employed as secretary to the president of Edwards & Co., a large electrical manufacturing company in Norwalk. Helen was a member of the First Congregational Church of Stratford, where she was a former Deaconess, member of the Women's Service League and chairman of the Christmas fair. She was also a past Queen of Pyramid Temple 82, daughters of the Nile. She leaves a stepson, George E. Jones Jr. and his wife, Marie of Savannah, Ga. She will be sadly missed by her family nephew, Robert Alexander Mackenzie and his wife, Patricia, of Enfield; her niece, Jean Mackenzie Bard and her husband, Robert of Dalton, Mass. and granddaughter, Kathleen Jones Thopsey of Trumbull; and grandson, George E. Jones III and his wife, Debra, of Fairfield. She leaves her great nieces and nephews, Allison Mackenzie Bard Howard and her husband, Keith Howard, Christopher Robert Bard, Adam Alexander Bard, and Robert James Mackenzie ; a great-great-grandnephew, Jonathan Howard; her great-grandchildren, Ryan C. Thopsey, Brooks H. Thopsey, Melissa A. Thopsey, Graham O. Thopsey, Elizabeth S. Jones, Emily G. Jones, and Abigail P. Jones. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service celebrating her life which will be held on Monday, June 11, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the First Congregational Church in Stratford. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Norwalk and will be private. There are no calling hours. If friends so desire, gifts in her memory may be made to the Helen M.
