CARROLL Helen Elizabeth Carroll of Fairfield, died peacefully on Monday, November 29, 2004. Born in Bridgeport, a daughter of Thomas J. and Catherine (Donahue) Carroll, she grew up in Fairfield, and lived most of her adult life in Bridgeport. A graduate of Fairfield High School, she was a longtime employee of Charles Edwards Insurance Agency, where she was corporate secretary and office manager. She was a member of the Insurance Women's Club and a longtime volunteer at St. Augustine Cathedral. The matriarch of the Carroll clan, she leaves two sisters, Agnes Carroll Callahan and Rita F. Carroll, both of Fairfield; a niece, Catherine Callahan Brennan and her husband, James, of Wethersfield; a nephew, Timothy J. Callahan and his wife, Eileen, of Fairfield; five "grand" nieces and nephews, Maura and Brighid Brennan and Patrick, Colleen and Daniel Callahan. Miss Carroll was predeceased by a brother, Joseph E. Carroll; and two sisters, Catherine Carroll Whelan and Alice Carroll Briggs. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Carolton Chronic and Convalescent Hospital for their support and kindness in caring for Helen Carroll. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Augustine Cathedral with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday after 9 a.m. at the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
