Helen E. Short Jan. 10, 1918 ­ June 10, 2011 Helen Elizabeth Short, 93, of Canandaigua, died on Friday, June 10, 2011, at Universal Health Care in Fletcher, N.C. Born in Baldwinsville, N.Y. on Jan. 10, 1918, she was a daughter of the late John and Nellie Group. Mrs. Short loved her church family and was a member of Lifespring Community Church. Helen was active in the churches she attended, playing the organ for many years. She had a heart of missions evidenced by her hospitality, prayers and giving. She volunteered as a receptionist at F.F. Thompson Hospital and at the Canandaigua welcome center. In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Short. Survivors include two sons, David Short and wife Mary of Spring Hill, Fla. and Steve Short and wife Velda of Etowah, N.C.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Helen is rejoicing in heaven with her beloved husband Bob and family and friends who have gone on before. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon at Fuller Funeral Home Inc., 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua, followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. at Lifespring Community Church, 5026 North Road, Canandaigua.
