Obituary of Helen-E. Donahue


Helen E. Donahue ""Betty"", age 92, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away in a local assisted living facility on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013. She was born on May 17, 1920, in Pawtucket, R.I. to Fred and Vera Snape. She had been a resident of the local area since 1980. Betty was Catholic by faith and a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church. She was a member of the Fort Walton Beach Women's Club. She especially enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking, and being with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C., in 2003. She is survived by her children, son, Thomas (Vicky) Donahue of Montreal, Canada; daughter, Barbara (Stephen) Starling of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Katelyn Donahue, Donald L. Starling, and Cynthia (John) Cheek; and great-grandchildren, Andrew Starling and Thomas L. Cheek.The family received friends on Monday, Jan. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the McLaughlin Mortuary Chapel. A Funeral Mass was conducted on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at Saint Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Monsignor Michael Cherup officiating.
