Helen Davis, 99, of Newark, Del., formerly of Garfield, died Oct. 22. Born in Passaic on Dec. 11, 1910, she was employed with Westin Biscuit in Clifton for 25 years until her retirement. A devout Christian, she loved her God and her church, Ss. Peter and Paul Polish National Catholic Church in Passaic, where she was a longtime member of the Senior Club. Active in her community, she was a member of the Garfield Seniors Club, Golden Ages, and the AARP. She also enjoyed bingo, dancing, eating out and taking trips to Atlantic City. Surviving are her daughters, Rosemarie Sander and her husband, William, of Newark, Del., and Joan Pranio of Barnegat; son-in-law, John Kowal of Florida; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Davis; a daughter, Anna Kowal; and a brother, Charles Barris. Service was Nov. 2 at Ss. Peter and Paul Polish National Catholic Church, Passaic, with interment in East Ridgelawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Ss.
