SCOTIA Helen Walsh Casey, 87, of Pershing Drive, died Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Northwoods of Niskayuna after a short illness. Mrs. Casey was born in South Troy and moved to Scotia in 1961. Mrs. Casey is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, John J. Casey; he died in January of this year; her parents, John and Mary Murray Walsh and Margaret O'Donnell; four sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Welsh, Helen O'Malley, Mary Curtis and Margaret Pickett; one brother, James O'Donnell. She is survived by one son, Jack Casey and his wife Cathe of Niskayuna; one sister, Mary Gemmill of Troy; four grandchildren, Christopher, Brian, Jennifer and Michael Casey, all of Niskayuna; two brothers-in-law, John Welsh of Troy and Dr. Thomas Casey and his wife Marylin of Troy; and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Casey of Poestenkill; several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Tuesday morning at 9:30 at the Gleason Funeral Home, 730 Union St., Schenectady and at 11:00 at St. Joseph's Church in Troy where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
