Helen Byrl Henderson (nee Bertrand) Born in Brandon, Manitoba peacefully passed away in her 80th year at the Surrey Hospice surrounded by loved ones on September 26th, 2007. She will now be reunited with her beloved predeceased husband Lt. Cmdr W.D. (Bill) Henderson (1990). She will never be forgotten by her family: daughters Arlene Henderson (Wayne Rains) and Beverly Ireland; sons John Henderson (Rona) and Jim Henderson (Sandie); grandchildren Brooke (Nuv), Koleman, Kaye Ann, Danis, Maegun, Lindsey, Teryl and Jilly; sister Phyllis Raincock; and many friends and extended family scattered across Canada. Mom and Dad were married in Aldergrove in 1947, and after many years of moving from coast to coast and in between while he was in the Navy, they retired to Aldergrove in 1972. Mom worked for Sears for many years, and enjoyed her time with Kiwanis, bowling, golfing, and the Heritage Society. Her grandchildren will remember her for her curiosity and love of life; her warmth and strength; love of a good bargain, love of a good roast beef meal surrounded by family, and her love of a good horror flick. Family was her most prized possession and she will be missed terribly. Stubborn till the end, Byrl insisted on no service. In lieu of flowers, a donation to LAPS (Langley Animal Protection Services) would be greatly appreciated.
