Helen Adams, born in 1910, spouse of Jesse Adams, mother of Samuel, died on February 15, 2010 at 100 years old.
Helen Harden Adams, 100, passed from this earth Monday, Feb. 15, 2010. A celebration of her life is at 1:30 p.m. today at Bellevue United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Taylor Gallman officiating. Burial was in the Tignall Baptist Cemetery, Tignall, Ga.Mrs. Adams was a 1930 graduate of LaGrange College with a degree in piano. She served as pianist and organist at Tignall Baptist Church for 50 years, later serving at Whitehouse United Methodist, Whitehouse, Texas; First Southern Methodist Church in Gadsden; and Bellevue United Methodist Church. Most recently, she blessed the residents and staff at Northside Health Care with her music.Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers and sisters; her husband, Jesse Adams; and her son, Samuel Adams.She is survived by daughter-in-law, Margaret Adams; granddaughters, Jessica (David) O'Bryant, Gadsden, and Samantha (David) Gilleland, Van, Texas; great-grandchildren, Jadon O'Bryant and Brooklyn and Bailey Gilleland; and special family friend, Wesley Williard, Austin, Texas.The family wishes to thank the staff of Northside Health Care for the love and care shown to Mrs. Adams for the last four years.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bellevue United Methodist Church.
