HELEN NADON (nee ALEXANDER) Peacefully, on Sunday, October 19, 2003, Helen Nadon, age 80 years, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son Lyle (Joyce) of Newmarket, ON; daughter Susan (George) Leschyson of Winnipeg, five grandchildren, Curtis and T.J. Nadon and Brent, Matthew (Rachelle) and Justin Leschyson; one great-granddaughter Natalia Leschyson. She also leaves to mourn her sister Elizabeth (Betty) Greipl. Helen was predeceased by her loving husband Lucien (Leo), daughter Karen, parents, William and Williamina Alexander, brothers, William and Sandy, sisters, Margaret Vermette and Pearl Alexander. Helen was born in Aberdeen, Scotland on June 30, 1923. She immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of 4, settling in the Beulah district in Manitoba. She married Leo in 1946 and resided in Fort Rouge before moving to Garden City in 1959. Helen retired from Eaton's in 1983 after 15 years of service, after which she devoted her retirement to her children and grandchildren. She cherished moments spent with family and friends. She held a special place in her heart for her many nieces and nephews. Her five grandsons were the love of her life. They treasured their time spent at Grandma's and have many fond lifelong memories. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 23 at 12:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery.
