->WINTHROP -- Helen A. Williams, 82, of Route 133 died Tuesday Dec. 25, 2007, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, after a brief illness.She was born in Alstead, N.H., on July 10, 1925, the daughter of Guy and Gladys (Mowry) Trombley. She attended schools in Chester, Vt.Helen had worked at Lipman Poultry in Augusta for 28 years. She liked sewing, reading and puzzles. She also very much enjoyed auctions and had run Burt's Place in Winthrop for many years. She was predeceased by a son, Burton Williams Jr., in 1975; two grandsons, Charles Williams, in 1976, and Frank Payson, in 1991; a sister, Shirley Rozaitas; and Helen's husband of 56 years, Burton Sr., in 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Payson, of South China; two sons, Curtis Williams and his wife, Brigette, of Readfield and Donald Williams and his wife, Gail, of Winthrop; a brother, Kenneth Trombley, of Winthrop; three sisters, Beverly Stocker, of Springfield, Vt., Doris Freeman, of Ludlow, Vt. and Mabel Barlow, of Springfield, Vt.; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends are invited to attend a gathering in remembrance of Helen anytime from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at Janice Payson's home, 232 Ingraham Road, South China. A committal service will be held in the spring at East Readfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 51 US Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, ME 04074-7134; or to the charity of one's choice.
