CARMEL - Hazel Rose (St. Louis) Jarvis, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother and sister, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Dec. 6, 1918, in Old Town, the daughter of Leo J. St. Louis and Gladys (Bouchard) St. Louis. Hazel was educated in the Old Town Schools and worked at Buddy's Lunch in Bangor before working for 42 years at several shoe factories in the Old Town, Bangor and Brewer area. She was an avid Beano player, enjoyed working with her yarn and plastic and will be sadly missed at the weekly card games by Pat St. Louis, Barbara Archer, Rita St. Louis and Norma Demmons. She married Ronald E. Jarvis Sr. on July 28, 1938. She is survived by two sons, Ronald Jarvis Jr. and Robert Jarvis Sr. and his wife, Ina, all of Carmel; grandchildren, Robyn DuLac and her husband, Douglas, Laurie Gerald and her husband, Jeffery, Ronald Jarvis III and his wife, Holly, Robert Jarvis Jr. and his wife, Nanette, and Renee Kingsbury and her husband, Stephen; great-grandchildren, Jessi Trafton, David McCourt, John Gerald, Nikol Harris, Ethan Harris, Makelle Jarvis and Seth Jarvis; brothers, Leon St. Louis and his wife, Rita, Harold St. Louis and his wife, Elaine, and Richard St. Louis and his wife, Donna; sisters, Dorothy Overcash and her husband, Charles, Helen Bonder, Virginia Tracey, Jeannette Sylvester and her husband, Roger and Phyllis Smith; a brother-in-law, Charles Dunton Sr. and a sister-in-law, Marilyn St. Louis. She was predeceased by her husband, July 19, 1992; a beloved daughter-in-law, Gail Jarvis; two brothers, Donald and Eugene St. Louis; two sisters, Alyce Pitman and Evelyn Dunton; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Jarvis. Friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2005, at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2005, at St. John's Catholic Church, York Street, Bangor, with the Very Rev. Richard McLaughlin, pastor, celebrant. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Carmel Snowmobile Club Beano Fund, P.O. Box 141, Carmel, ME 04419, or to the Carmel Grange, care of Helen MacDonald, 173 Main Road, Carmel, ME 04419.
