Hazel Green RotterdamHazel Green, 94, at rest Sunday, April 13, 2014. Hazel was born in Amsterdam and was a long time local resident. She was employed for many years with the Tobin Meat Packing Plant in Albany. She was a member of VFW Post 357. Hazel was the beloved wife of the late George H. Green; beloved mother of Peggy (Al) Rotter of Schenectady, Marge (John) Hladik of Rotterdam and Ginger (Robert) Chmielewski of Scotia and the late Barbara Brenneman; loving grandmother of 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and 13 great great-grandchildren. Hazel is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, April 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. All are invited to a Wednesday 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Gabriel's Church, 3040 Hamburg St., Rotterdam. Hazel's burial will follow in Sts. Cyril & Method Cemetery, Rotterdam. Hazel's family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Ellis Hospital A3 for their kind care of Hazel.
