Hattie Mae Anderson, a native of Liberty County, departed this life Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at her daughter and son-in-law Canute and Kimberly Brown-Morgan's house in McDonough, Ga. She was born Aug. 21, 1944, to the late Willie and Malinda Anderson Sr. Hattie attended the Liberty County School System, graduating in 1962 from the old Liberty County High School in Midway. Ms. Anderson later moved to New Jersey and retired from medical coding/data processing at Hoffman La Roche Pharmaceutical Co. She attended Moriah Baptist Church in Passaic, N.J. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Canute Brown-Morgan of McDonough; three brothers, Kenneth Sr., David Sr. and James Anderson of Walthourville; four sisters, Emily Hendry, Carrie Clark, both of Walthourville, and Dollie Ricks and Marie Ricks, both of Paterson, N.J.; and three grandchildren, William Kyle, Kaila Mailin and Cabem Keith Brown-Morgan of McDonough. Viewing will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, at Dorchester Funeral Home in Midway. Her body will be placed in the church at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, for further viewing until her funeral at 11 a.m. Monday at Good Shepherd Missionary Baptist Church in Allenhurst. The Rev. Dr. C.L. Anderson will be the eulogist. Interment will be in Baconton Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Allenhurst. Dorchester Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
