Hattie Lee Duncan White, 83, St. Augustine, was called home on June 4, 2011, at Flagler Hospital. She attended Excelsior High and was united in marriage to Deacon James L. White. She joined First Baptist Church at an early age and was a faithful member where she served as president of the Deaconess Board, Trustee Board member, also Choir # 1 and 2 member. She was a lifetime member of the NAACP, the 40th Accord and the Lilly Whites. She was retired from Mariotti"s Cleaners where she worked and supervised for more than 40 years. She was preceded in death by brothers Herbert Duncan, Wilbert Duncan, Samuel Duncan, and Robert Duncan Jr.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael McConnell, pastor, officiating. Calling hours will be on Friday at the church from 5-7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband, James White, St. Augustine; children, Janice (Charles) Boles of Palm Coast, Janette (Elliot) VanDyke, Christopher White, Walter White, all of St. Augustine, and James (Bernadette) White of Philadelphia, Pa.; sisters, Catherine Brown of Ocala, Fla., Vertell Norris and Jennifer Stokes of Mays Landing, N.J.; and brothers, Curtis (Stephanie) Duncan of Las Vegas, Nev., Arthur (Jesse) Duncan of McKee City, N.J.; sisters-in-law; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, god children and many friends.Leo C.
