->ATHENS, Tenn. -- Harriet Stanley Hammond, age 90, of Athens passed away Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at National HealthCare Corporation.A native of Bar Harbor, Maine, and lifelong resident of Maine, she was the daughter of the late Bryant and Blanche Powers Stanley and was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Thomas Hammond. She was of the Congregational faith.Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Diane H. and Lee E. Maillet of Athens; one granddaughter, Stephanie Maillet of Arlington, Mass.; one great-grandson, Sawyer Zand of Arlington; one sister, Velma S. Johnson of Athens; one nephew, Dennis Johnson of Augusta, Maine; two nieces, Dawna Tregembo of Augusta and Francesca Fortin of Lakeland, Fla.There will be no formal visitation or service. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, in Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Living Heritage Museum, 512 West Madison Ave., Athens, TN 37303.
