Obituary of Harriet Bailey


BAILEY Harriet Bailey, age 80 of Stratford, entered into rest Monday, December 1, 2008 at Hewitt Health Center in Shelton. She was the devoted wife of the late Wilmont Bailey. Harrier was born in Norwalk, May 15, 1928, daughter of the late David and Harriet (Hall) Prentice, and lived in Shelton for most of her life. She owned and operated the Card and Party Shop in Huntington Center for 10 years. She was also an avid golfer and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was the beloved mother of Gary Bailey and his wife, Jan of Lititz, Pa., Eric Bailey and his wife, Charmaine of Oakville, and Timothy Bailey and his wife, Judy of Derby. She is also survived by a brother, Donald Prentice; a sister, Jeanne Hackenson; eight cherished grandchildren; and one great-grand-son. She was predeceased by three brothers, Albert, Herbert, and David Prentice. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Nichols United Methodist Church, 35 Shelton Rd. Trumbull, Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 2 p.m. At the request of the family, contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Nichols United Methodist Church, 35 Shelton Rd., Trumbull, CT 06611. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Friends may also leave condolences at www.riverviewfh.com.
