Born August 20, 1940, he was the son of the late Maynor Wright, Jr. and Clyme Fleming Wright of Madison, FL. He graduated from Florida A & M University with his B.S. degree, and earned his Master's Degree from Florida State University.He taught in Jefferson, Leon, Pasco and Pinellas school districts, and Quitman, GA. He retired in 2002 after 41 years as an educator. In 1966, he married the former Rita J. Owens (Lovitt), and together, they had sons: Michael and Gregory. In 1980, he married the late Ivy "Jean" Williams, and together, they welcomed son, Christopher.Rejoicing in his purposeful life are sons: Michael D. Wright, Sr.; Gregory C. Wright; and Christopher J. Wright; daughter-in-law, Jocelyn Avery-Wright; grandchildren: Mia Wright, Jarelle Avery, Brianna Wright and Michael Wright, Jr.; and great-grands: Malik Wright and Milli&#225;n Wright; brother: Marion Baker; cousin-like-sisters: Joyce Ann Wright-Wilson (Ralph Wilson); Rhoda Siplin-Shirley (Vilmore Shirley); and Dr. Lannie J. Pryor Brown; aunts: Inez Wright-King and Cora Fleming; and many more loving family and friends.A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, November 16, 2013, Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Tallahassee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to: FAMU Foundation, FSU Foundation, or Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation.
