BECK, HansDec. 20, 1921 - Jan. 31, 2012Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home after a long illness. Loving husband to Herta (Scholl) for 58 years; proud father to Irene, Norman (Carol), Doris, and Evelyn (Peter Bomberg); cherished Opa to Graham (Jessica), Leah, Philip and Benjamin. Hans will be missed by sister-in-law Amanda (Anatol) Mojsiuk, brother-in-law Edmund (Brigitte) Scholl and Alice Scholl and nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by friends in Sudbury where he lived for 39 years and the friends he made in Ottawa the last 21 years. Hans was born in Litvinov, Russia. He was a veteran of WW2, immigrating to Canada in 1951. In Sudbury, he worked for Inco for 34 years, retiring in 1986. Special thanks to Dr. Gick, the nurses and all who provided caring support for him at home throughout his illness. Friends can visit at Pinecrest Visitation Centre (2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, February 2nd. A service will be held at Nepean Baptist Church, 135 Woodfield Dr at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 3rd .
