HUGH SHARKEY Age 92, of Kentville, NS, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at home. Born in Scotland, he was a son of the late Hugh and Rose (Rhodie) Sharkey. He served with the Royal Marines from 1941 - 1946 in Egypt and Ceylon. After immigrating to Canada, he was employed as a truck driver for several years. He is survived by two daughters Lynn, Hamilton, Ontario and Margaret Creighton, Kentville. He was predeceased by his wife the former Elizabeth Irvine; three sisters Annie, Grace "Bunty" and Agnes "Babs". Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 in Kings Presbyterian Church, New Minas, NS, Reverend Tim Archibald officiating. A graveside service will be held at a later date in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to Parkinson Society Canada, the Alzheimer Society or the Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses.
