HELEN VIRGINIADAVIS, 88 LAKELAND - Helen Virginia Davis, 1923-2012, Age 88 of Lakeland, Florida and Sebring, Ohio passed away quietly on Monday April 30, 2012 at her Lakeland home. She was born on August 4, 1923 to the late William and Bessie Cowan in Canton, Ohio. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Davis; brothers, Bill, Walt and Bob Cowan. She graduated from N. Canton High School in 1943 and attended Cleveland Bible School. Helen played the piano and organ at numerous Churches and Bible Camps in both Ohio and Florida for over 40 years before retiring at the age of 86. She is survived by two nephews, Terry Ray Cowan of Summerfield, FL and Claude (Sylvie) Cowan of Pau, France; one niece, Suzanne (Reed) Ledwig of Summerfield, FL; and numerous grand nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, May 22 at the Dueber Church, 645 Dueber Ave SW Canton, Oh 44706 with Dr. Chester Harris presiding. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2590 Havendale Blvd, Winter Haven, FL 33881, who provided loving final care for Helen and family.
