WILLIAMS, HELEN LEITH Age 87, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed on to be with her Lord on Friday, March 11, 2011. She was originally from Carbon Hill, Alabama. She never met a stranger and will be remembered by all who knew her for her generous heart and contagious spirit. Helen Leith Williams is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Odell Pearce Williams. She is survived by her sister, Margie Leith Franks of Phoenix, AZ, son, Harold Gregory Williams (Madeline Sims Williams) and daughter, Olivia Williams Parker-Donaldson (Robert E. Donaldson). She was known as "Granny" to her four grandchildren, Ashley Scott Williams (Dr. Lisa Howard Williams), Heather Williams Fentress (Dave Martin Fentress), Jami Michelle Parker, Leslie Karlene Parker, her two great-grandchildren (Molly and Caroline Fentress), and all of her many friends and neighbors. A private memorial service will be held at the family cemetery in Shiloh, Alabama, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Odell. The family suggests that any memorial gifts be made to the Disabled Veterans of America and/or Big Oak Ranch, both of which Helen was an avid supporter.
