<!-- FH = BLOUNT, CURRY & ROEL FUNERAL -->CARTER, Harris Q., a native of Tampa, passed away on his birthday, November 8, 2011, at the age of 84. He served in the U.S. Marines and as a Lieutenant in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. He received his bachelor's degree from Florida State University and his master's degree from the University of Florida. He was a teacher at Palm River Elementary and Temple Terrace Elementary. He was a Principal at several schools throughout Hillsborough County over the course of 45 years. He retired as a Principal from Lopez Elementary in 1995. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Manolt Carter; three children, Randy Carter (Paula), Cynthia Ober, and Sally Perez (Angel); also, eight grandchildren and five great-granddaughters. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Temple Terrace United Methodist Church. A funeral service will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, Fla. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
