Gray, Harold "Bud" GUILDERLAND Harold "Bud" Gray, 91, of Guilderland (formerly of Prattsville, N.Y.) died peacefully Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn. He was born July 11, 1918 in Gilboa, N.Y., the son of Harold and Katherine Gray. "Bud" married Elizabeth "Betty" Stryker on December 16, 1950 in Grand Gorge, N.Y. They were happily married for 59 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II from 1943 to 1946. He remained a member of the Virgil Deyo American Legion Post 1327 for 62 years. Bud was also a registrar for the U.S. Selective Service and a volunteer fireman for many years. Bud worked for Victory Markets in various capacities for 46 years. In his later years, he especially enjoyed golf, the Yankees and beating his grandchildren at card games. He is survived by his wife, Betty; his three sons and their wives, Mark and Sandy of Stamford, N.Y., Barry and Becky of Bethlehem, N.Y. and Pete and Wendy of West Sand Lake, N.Y.; his beloved grandchildren, Patrick and his wife Erika, Brian, Casey, Zachary, Shane, Sean and Rachael Gray. Also surviving are his brother, Ed and his sisters, Ellen Gray and Millie Frank and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Virginia Chatfield and Dorothy Casperson. A special thanks to the staff on the 5th floor of St. Peter's Hospital and The Inn for the loving care they provided. Visitation will be private. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. in the Sacred Heart RC Church in Stamford. Interment will follow the Mass in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Stamford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bud's memory may be made to The Inn at Community Hospice, 315 South Manning, Albany, NY 12054. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Hall-Tari Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Stamford, under the direction of William A. Tari.
