H. Sandy Lee - SAVANNAH - Following a brief illness, H. Sandy Lee passed away on Friday, April 18, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital. We will now prepare for the celebration of her life and remember the love she had for the Lord. A longtime resident of Savannah, she was a member of Chapel By the Sea Baptist Church on Tybee Island, where she served as the Program / Theme Decoration Chairman of the God Abouts and assisted in the seasonal decoration of the Sanctuary. A graduate of Brenau University, Sandy received her degree in Speech and Psychology and was a member of Zeta Phi Eta, Honorary Speech Fraternity. She was a director of the Savannah Community Theatre, Past President of the Savannah Little Theatre, and was an officer in the American Association of University Women, Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, and Women's Aglow. Surviving are her husband of fifty-four years, Stephen J. Lee, PhD, of Savannah; her brother, Prof. Thomas Sanders, PhD, Georgia Tech, of Atlanta; her sister, Victorine Mertes of Rehoboth Beach, DE; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel. Interment will follow in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
