He grew up in Farmington Falls, where he met his high school sweetheart, soul mate and love of his life, Arlene Edna (Merrill) Davis. Guy proudly served his country on active duty for four years in the Air Force, Air Police Squad, guarding President Dwight Eisenhower. He also guarded Queen Elizabeth II's plane while on duty in Bermuda. He then spent four years in the reserves. Moore Oil & Gas Co. in Farmington, Maine Dowel Co. in Fairbanks, and The Oliver Stores in Farmington, before opening his own business, Davis Garage, in New Vineyard. He maintained the business for 30-plus years, before having to retire because of ill health. He married his true love, Arlene Merrill, on Aug. 12, 1953. Together they raised five children, whom he adored. He was never too busy to help with repair projects, or teach life lessons and handyman tips to those around him. Guy was preceded in death by his father and mother, mother-in-law and father-in-law Bernice and Lewis Moore, and father-in-law Maurice Merrill. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Arlene Davis; his five loving children, Patricia (Davis) Knox and son-in-law Phil Enman of Farmington, Cindy (Davis) Stevens and her husband, Gary Stevens, of Winslow, RoseMarie (Davis) Richards and her husband, Randy Richards, of Jay, Charlene (Davis) McGraw and her husband, Shawn, of Farmington, and Scott Guy Davis and his wife, Lola (Milcendeau) Davis, of Canaan.
