KEYES It is with great sadness that the family announces the unexpected sudden premature passing of Gregory Brian Keyes on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 in Saskatoon at the age of 31. Greg was born to Brian and Leanna (nee Putnam) Keyes in Watson on September 5, 1979. He began his elementary education in Saskatoon, grade 3 11 in Asquith and completed his high school in Saskatoon. On completion of his schooling he then entered into the secondary school , SIAST Kelsey Campus in a welding program, which he excelled in and graduated at the top of his class. He was very gifted in this career and was able to find solutions to any challenge he was presented. In later years, supervisors would have him help the new and upcoming welders, an opportunity Greg took seriously as he loved to share his talents with others. Due to his love of sharing his knowledge and expertise, his future plans were to teach and mentor others. Being a UA member, local 179 was an achievement he was incredibly proud of, he enjoyed the challenges that it would present, but more then anything his fellowship with his union brothers. Greg loved his children, and were always close to his heart. He had an amazing skill in communications and was able to work with many different people in many different positions. Greg was very athletic and participated in many sports such as, hockey and ball. His favourite hobby was fishing when he wasn't out with his many good friends socializing and enjoying a good laugh.
