With sadness the family announces the passing of Gregory Allan Toner, who passed away on Wednesday May 23, 2012 of natural causes at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1947 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Borden and Phyllis (Wallace) Toner. He enjoyed a long career with Irving Oil and School District #8. He was an avid lover of all sports and playing them with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Gail (Russell) Toner; son Mark Toner (Jaclyn) of Quispamsis; grandchildren Lexi, Brooklyn and Ryder; brother Robert Toner (Leeann) of Saint John; sister Denise Clarke (Eamon) of Hampton; nieces Sherry Smith, Almeda Nielson (Nelson), Julie London (Art), Patricia Toner and Lori Morrison (Mike). Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Helen Beaulieu and Marie London and niece Lorelei Knox. Following cremation, visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road Saint John (646-2424) on Thursday May 24, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. Private interment will be held at a later date. Charitable donations may be made in Gregory's memory to the following organization: P.R.O Kids Leisure Services, City of Saint John, P.O. Box 1971, Saint John, NB E2L 4L1
