Mr. Greggory Donald Davis age 41 of Tuscaloosa, Alabama died December 20, 2003.He was preceded in death by his mother Susan Smythe. Survivors include his father James Donald Davis of Atlanta, GA. - He was born in Atlanta, Georgia May 21, 1962 where he lived until the age of 15. During this time he was raised by his godparents Carey and Sheila Barnes and enjoyed being an older brother to their older children Kelley, Madison and Baron. At 15 he moved to Texas and attended high school in Dallas. After graduating he attended college at Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. before moving to Taiwan where he taught English and made contacts that way to assist him in a successful import business. At the age of 25 Mr. Davis opened his great restaurant DePalma's Italian Cafe in Atlanta, GA. He went on to open another restaurant in Atlanta and two more in Athens, GA. Mr. Davis also owned and operated a Coffee House and Pub in Athens before selling his interest and moving to Tuscaloosa, Alabama where in addition to other business ventures he opened another restaurant also named DePalma's Italian Cafe. Mr. Davis was an entrepreneur, world traveler and loved all things Italian.Graveside funeral services will be held Friday December 26, 2003 at 11:30 A.M. from Sandy Flat Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Cliff Anderson officiating.
