LANGNER, Grace Violet June 16, 1920 - May 31, 2008 It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Grace Morrison Langner. Grace was born in Yarmouth Township, ON and received her education in the St. Thomas area; she graduated from St. Thomas Collegiate Institute in 1938. She pursued further studies at the Toronto Bible College and then returned home to study at St. Thomas Business College, where she was offered a teaching position. She married Arn Langner on August 13, 1943, and devoted herself to caring for her family. She eventually moved to Edmonton in 1956. Later in life Grace ventured back into the workforce and in 1985, completed an eleven year career with the Alberta Government as Executive Secretary to the Assistant Deputy Minister of Housing. She was an accomplished musician and shared her musical talents with many, as pianist, church organist and choir director. Grace was a tireless volunteer and contributed endless hours to the Edmonton General Hospital, the YWCA and numerous church organizations. Grace is survived by her loving family; Arn Langner and their four children, Loy (Wayne) Krywko and Gylda Evans of Calgary, Melodie Langner and Pat (Colleen) Langner of Edmonton; seven grandchildren, Krysty (Hugh) Babowal of New York City, Daryn (Sharena) Krywko of Scottsdale, AZ, Celena (Thomas) Ashcroft of St. Albert, Kyler (Gail) Evans of Lethbridge, Chad Evans of Calgary and Kelvin and Kayla Langner of Edmonton; five great-grandchildren, Molly and Henry Babowal and Eden, Cale and Ella Ashcroft. She was preceded in death by her parents, Velma Adelaide and Clark Lefroy Morrison and by her beloved brother, Pilot Officer Lloyd G. Morrison, who gave his life in the service of his country on June 24, 1942. Visitation will take place at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 - 114 Street, Edmonton on Friday, June 6, 2008 between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 9907 - 114 Street, Edmonton on Saturday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m. In memory of Grace, donations may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 10985 - 124 Street, Edmonton, T5M 0H9.
