MASON Grace Mildred Prom Mason went to live eternally with The Lord March 20, 2008. She was born June 11, 1919 and was a lifetime resident of Jacksonville. The daughter of Jacob and Anna Prom, she was educated in Jacksonville schools, Lackawanna Grammar, John Gorrie Junior High and Robert E. Lee Senior High, where she graduated in 1937 with highest honors in the National Honor Society. Grace is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Mason, Jr., three sons, David, wife Peggy, Phillip, wife Martie, Thomas E. Mason III, one daughter Linda, husband Rick Swanson, and one brother, The Rev. George W. Prom. Nine grandsons and one great grandson. She has been a member of Murray Hill Baptist Church since 1949 where she served as organist and pianist, Sunday School teacher, and was very active in all activities of the church along with her husband Tom. She also served for years as organist and pianist in the Avondale and Woodlawn Baptist Churches. In addition to the many activities with her churches and family, she was a secretary in the State Attorney's office for twenty years. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 11 AM at the Murray Hill Baptist Church with The Rev. Jay Stuckey officiating. The interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church.
