ObituaryGrace "Gigi" Owen, 85, of Fort Myers passed away peacefully on May 15, 2007. Grace was born in Chicago, IL, raised her family in Oak Brook, IL, and retired to Sanibel Island, FL in 1979 with her husband, David W. Owen, II. Affectionately known by her grandchildren as "Gigi," Grace was a loving wife, mother and grandmother known for her sweet disposition. Grace was a talented painter and created a number of paintings depicting tropical sunsets, lighthouses and historical landmarks near her home on Sanibel.Grace is predeceased by her husband, David W. Owen, II, who passed away on July 4, 2000. Grace is survived by her four children, Karen D. Wolff of St. Charles IL, David W. Owen, III of Lilburn, GA, Dennis M. Owen of Big Rock, IL and Kevin R. Owen of North Fort Myers, FL. Gigi is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Friday, May 18, 2007, 5-7 PM at The National Cremation Society, 3453 Hancock Bridge Parkway, N. Fort Myers. A service of remembrance will be held at the same location on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at 4 PM. A memorial service will be held this July at a time yet to be announced in Illinois for both Grace and her husband David. Flowers and warm wishes are greatly welcome.
