Mrs. Grace Jackson Utica, NY Mrs. Grace Colosimo Jackson, 88, passed away with her loving family by her side on Saturday, December 27, 2008, at the Presbyterian Home. Grace was born in Utica on December 2, 1920, a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Caterina (Scalise) Colosimo. She was educated in local schools. On January 29, 1955, she was joined in marriage to Grady O. Jackson. Her beloved husband passed away at a young age on February 28, 1970. During WWII, Grace worked at Rhoades Hospital, and later in food service at Chicago Pneumatic for many years before retiring in 1976. Grace's life was centered around family. She always looked forward to Sunday dinner at her daughter's home, where she will be deeply missed. An avid sports fan, she especially loved watching the NY Yankees, and also enjoyed her nightly game shows with her dish of ice cream. She is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Linda Marie and Alex Eller; beloved grandchildren, Alex Jr. and his wife, Christina Eller, and Pamela Eller and her boyfriend, Greg Smith; adored great-granddaughters, Cailin and Makenna Rech, and Erin Sophia Eller; her sister, Connie Emilian; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, Ralph, and Frank Leo, and Michael and Felix Colosimo; and sisters, Theresa Rabbia, Philomena Giruzzi, Betty Manch, Caroline Granato and Mary DeAngelo. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 12 noon at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Private interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of Mass. Arrangements are with The Matt Funeral Home of Utica.
