Obituary of Grace-Evelyn Cooper


Grace Evelyn Cooper passed away on May 7, 2007. Grace was born July 14, 1927, to James and Maud Carr and was was raised in Mountain View, Mo. After graduating from Springfield Baptist Nursing School in 1949, she worked at Springfield Baptist and St. John's Hospitals. She enjoyed traveling and after retiring, volunteering for the St. John's Auxiliary. She was an active member of Pathways (Dale Street) United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willis Cooper. She is survived by three children, Randy of Seattle, Wash., and his children, Randy Jr. and Andrew; Dustin and Ruth of Kansas City, Mo., and their children, Corrine and Greg; and Sharon and Brad Smith of Battlefield, and their children, Andrea and Seth Baldwin, Heather and Bethany. She is also survived by two brothers, Ralph Carr of Mountain View, and Earl Carr of Springfield; and by many other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 11 at 10:30 a.m. in Pathways United Methodist Church, 1232 E. Dale Street, Springfield, followed by interment in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery. Visitation will be held in Greenlawn Funeral Home North this evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Pathways United Methodist Church.
