PETERSON, Gordon A hard working family man passed away on Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Cascade Hospice in Chilliwack at the age of 80. He was very pleased and thankful with his life of travel, family campouts, his "cabin years", life-long career as a boomman on the Fraser River, a snowbird in the desert and for many instant, long lasting friendships he made along the way. Gordon proudly shared these memories through the years and as he battled with cancer this past year with a strong heart and sense of humour. Gordon is survived by his daughter Susan (Joe) Wiersema, his son Steven Peterson, his grandsons Robert, David and Jonathan Wiersema (S). The Uptons, generation after generation across BC and AB. His brother Ben Peterson and all the Petersons near and far. His travel companion Evelyn McDermid- Flynn and her family. He had always missed his loving wife, Margaret (nee Upton) and his best friends Tom, Sylvia Upton, Rod, Fern Upton, and Norm, Joanne Upton. His cherished sister Ruth Greenard and brothers Cyril, Lawrence and Bill. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 1:00 PM onward at The Cedars,12238-84th Ave., in Surrey where he lived on his own among caring friends. Memorial donations may be made to the Chilliwack Hospice Society (604-798-5355). A heartfelt thank you to all of you as we will lovingly remember each of you always.
