HURLEY, Gordon Patrick - In loving memory of Gordon Patrick Hurley, 83 years, who passed away Wednesday June 13th, 2007 at the Extendicare - Falconbridge, Sudbury. He was born in Florence, Cape Breton N.S. and married Joyce Ellen (Turner) in 1945 in England. Gordon came to the Sudbury area in 1947. He was a miner at INCO having 38 years service retiring in 1985. A proud Canadian he had served overseas during WWII with the Canadian Army and he was a past member of the Royal Canadian Legion. A committed trade unionist Gordon was an active member of the United Steelworkers. He was an avid outdoorsman and a past member of the Rod & Gun Club. Beloved husband of Joyce Ellen (Turner) Hurley of Dowling. Loving father of Colin (Emma) of Kincardine, Gail (Brian) of Dowling, Carol (Bryan) of Toronto, Gloria (Brian) of Blezard Valley, Mark and Mickey (Sheila) both of Dowling and the late Danny and Lorraine both predeceased. Cherished grandfather of Troy, Andrew, Anne, Theresa, Jeff, Jamie, Tyler, Ben, Shawn, Lia, Sara (predeceased), and great grandchildren Jesse and Hannah. Dear son of Hubert and Joyce (Ryan) Hurley predeceased. Dear brother of Georgina, Lawrence (Joanie) and Lester (Roseanne) and predeceased by Elmer, Cecil, Blanche and Ida Ellen. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. At Gordon's request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation.
