SCITUATE Gordon MacDonald of Scituate passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, following a long illness. He was 68 years old. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. A beloved husband of forty years, Gordon is survived by his wife, Nilah McKee MacDonald, his sister, Jean Riseman of San Francisco, his nieces, Tanya Riseman and Julia Riseman, and their children. Born and raised in New York City, Gordon attended The Buckley School, The Hotchkiss School, and Colby College. He held a position as a computer programmer analyst with the John Hancock Life Insurance Company until his retirement in 1985. He served his country in the Naval Reserves. Gordons passions were animals and the environment. An active supporter and volunteer at the Scituate Animal Shelter, he was named Volunteer of the Year in 1998. Gifts in his memory may be made to the Sierra Club.
