Funeral service for Mrs. Gloria Jean Jackson will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church in Ohatchee with Pastor John H. James officiating. Burial will follow at Ohatchee First Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6-7 tonight at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Mrs. Jackson died Friday, October 8, 2010. She leaves to cherish her loving memories her devoted husband, Rickey Jackson, of Ohatchee; three daughters, Mrs. Tamara Jackson (Deonta) Brooks, of Fort Hood, Texas, Ms. Camile Allen, of Anniston, and Miss Stacia Jackson, of Ohatchee; grandson, Jamal Nelson; mother, Carolyn Carvin; stepfather, Walter Carvin; brother, Anthony Jackson; aunts, Manietta Jennings, Deloris J. Clark-Burrow and Claudette Collins, in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Willie and Lottie Diamond, of Ohatchee; sister-in-law, Regina (Mack) Crook, of Anniston; nine nephews and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Darnell Jackson. Gloria was formerly of Huntsville and was a former member of Union Hill CP Church of Huntsville. Services are entrusted to Gadsden Memorial Funeral Home.
