Gloria Jean Desjarlais, 67, of Blackstone, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 11, 2010 with her loving family by her side. She is survived by her loving son, Mark J. Desjarlais, Fiance Frances Dorothy Laliberte, granddaughter Heather Lynn Desjarlais and grandson Adam Laliberte. Born in Milford, MA on Jan. 13, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Laurence and Marie Anna (Powers) Desjarlais. She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Leo Desjarlais and his wife, Debra, of East Falmouth, MA, Dolores Dickie and her husband, Franklin, of Blackstone, MA, Bernice E. Dubois of Blackstone, MA, Thomas Desjarlais and his wife, Lucille, of Bellingham, MA, Rita Ballou of Mapleville, RI, Robert Desjarlais of Warwick, RI, Joseph Desjarlais and his wife, Viviane, of Sun City, AZ, Mary Lou Russell of Green Cove Springs, FL, and Michael Desjarlais. She also had several nieces and nephews. A longtime resident of Blackstone, formerly of Bellingham, Gloria had been a quality control inspector at Plansee Schwarzkoff of Franklin, MA for many years. She enjoyed watching football games with her family, outdoor activities and gardening. She was an avid bowler, and played on several area leagues. Gloria was devoted to her family and friends and she will be greatly missed. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 19 at 11:00AM at CARTIERS FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Visiting hours from 9 to 11AM prior to service. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
